Terminal Data Reports $486,000 2nd-Quarter Loss

Terminal Data Corp., a Moorpark maker of scanners and document-imaging equipment, said it lost $486,000 in its fiscal second quarter ended March 31, compared to a loss of $187,000 a year earlier.

The latest loss came on a 19% drop in quarterly sales, to $4.67 million from $5.75 million a year earlier. The company attributed some of the decline to lower shipments of spare parts.

For its fiscal six months ended March 31, the company had a loss of $910,000--about double the loss in the same period a year earlier--on a 12% decline in sales, to $9.3 million from $10.6 million.
