Wetlands Tours--Guided public tours of the Bolsa Chica wetlands will be held Saturday morning. The 90-minute tours, sponsored by Amigos de Bolsa Chica, will depart from the wetlands’ ecological reserve every 20 minutes beginning at 9 a.m. The last tour will depart at 10:30 a.m.

A large number of waterfowl, shorebirds, loons, grebes, herons and egrets reside at the wetlands.

Those who would like to take the tour are asked to meet at the ecological reserve on Pacific Coast Highway about half a mile south of Warner Avenue, across from Bolsa Chica State Beach.

Trip to Anaheim Park--The Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society will host two field trips to Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim next week. The first will be on March 7, the second on March 9.

A portion of the Santa Ana River runs through the 166-acre park. A variety of birds are attracted to the park during the winter months, including various warblers as well as ducks and other water birds.

The field trips will be identical; participants are asked to attend one or the other, not both. Each trip will include a section for beginning bird-watchers.

The main entrance to the park is about two miles up. Once in the park entrance, make a right and drive past the first lake, then make a left and park in the lot by the restrooms.
