Summer Suit: Pop singer Donna Summer filed a $25 million libel suit Tuesday against New York magazine over an Aug. 5 article that quoted her as once saying that homosexuals were “sinners and that AIDS was a divine ruling.” Summer claims in the Los Angeles Superior Court suit that she never made the remark and that the magazine never called her to ask about it. She also said the story was “completely false” in saying she left a song off her latest album because it “would serve as an apology” to the gay community. The suit says she has suffered serious damage to her career and the sales of her recent album have been adversely affected.
