A woman’s nude body was discovered Tuesday afternoon by security guards on the Pala Indian Reservation.

The body was found shortly before 2 p.m. near Pala Temecula Road, about 2 miles north of California 76, a Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said. The woman’s identity was not immediately known, and no cause of death was determined Tuesday.

The San Diego Metro Homicide Task Force also was called to the scene. The task force was formed recently to investigate an apparent series of slayings of women in San Diego County. Law enforcement officials believe the San Diego County serial killer may be the so-called “Green River Killer,” who is believed to have slain as many as 46 women in the Seattle area from July, 1982, to February, 1984.

In that series, as in the San Diego murders, the victims tended to be women with histories of prostitution and drug use, whose nude bodies were dumped in remote areas.

Police believe more than 32 women have fallen victim to the serial killer in San Diego since June, 1985.
