Authorities are investigating a bizarre shooting that left a Paramount woman dead after bullets pierced her house and struck her while she was asleep. Sandra Franco, 43, was hit twice by bullets that came through the window while she lay in a day bed in the living room of her home on Petrol Street, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Deputy Chris Robbins said. Franco was pronounced dead at Charter Suburban Hospital. Her husband was in the house at the time, but he was not injured. It was not clear if the house was targeted or if the victim was hit by accident, Robbins said, adding that homicide investigators are not sure if the killers were in a car or on foot. The mixed industrial-residential neighborhood is known as a gang area, Robbins said.
