$70,000 for BA From Bennington

NEW YORK — The price of a bachelor’s degree has hit a record high of nearly $70,000 at the nation’s most expensive college and the average annual bill for any college this fall will rise 6%, a College Board report said today. Bennington College in Bennington, Vt., the most expensive, is issuing $16,950 “fixed costs” bills--$13,970 for tuition and $2,980 for room and board--for the 1986-87 academic year.
