Melissa Gilbert sent to hospital during ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Melissa Gilbert danced her way to a hospital trip during Monday’s ‘Dancing With the Stars.’
The former star of ‘Little House on the Prairie’ did the pasodoble with pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy for the show’s rock-themed night, and although Maks slipped at the end, Gilbert did not appear injured as she bantered with the judges afterward.
However, she was missing at the end of the show and host Tom Bergeron announced that she had been taken to the hospital.
ABC representatives did not respond to emails seeking further details.
Injuries are unfortunately a common theme on ‘DWTS,’ although the PR they generate offers a mixed blessing for the producers. The roster of celebs who’ve danced through pain includes Chaz Bono, Jennifer Grey and Ricki Lake.
