Sharon Stone would be the first to tell you: Don’t argue with Martin Scorsese.
The legendary director presented Stone with a lifetime achievement award at the AARP Movies for Grownups awards ceremony on Monday night, and in presenting the prize said ‘she’s got a little longer to go for a lifetime.’
Argue we won’t, as 53-year-old Stone looked super fresh at the fete, held in the ballroom of the Beverly Wilshire hotel.

Stone gave an emotional speech profusely thanking Scorsese for directing her to an Oscar nomination in ‘Casino,’ and reflecting on the turbulent time of her 40s when the phone wasn’t exactly ringing with job offers.
‘Yes, the chasm ... there was a lull,’ she joked in a British accent. The Ministry chatted Stone up after the show, wondering how one knows that lull is coming, and when it might be over.
‘You don’t know,’ Stone said, ‘but you have to realize some people have jobs, and some have careers.’
Stone said she turned to charity work, causes like amfAR and Drop in the Bucket, to help her through the murky waters of aging in Hollywood.
‘Elizabeth Taylor provided an example to live by,’ she said of her fellow AIDS research and prevention pioneer.
Other honorees at Movies for Grownups included Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and the cast of ‘The Artist.’
