Report: Katherine Heigl’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ days are done

Katherine Heigl is finally leaving ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ Entertainment Weekly is reporting exclusively -- that new brunet hairdo may be a sign that Izzie Stevens’ days are not only numbered, but in fact over.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed, according to the Ausiello Files, to release Heigl from her contract. The actress’ three-month maternity leave was to have ended March 1 -- but that date came and went, with no Heigl on set. Sources in both camps, speaking to EW, hinted at a complicated situation.

Heigl will accept ShoWest’s female star of the year award on March 18 in Las Vegas. Previous recipients include Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Sandra Bullock, Demi Moore, Jodie Foster and Julia Roberts.
