Courtney Love is, at least for the time being, no longer the legal guardian of Frances Bean Cobain, her daughter with the late Kurt Cobain.
The former Nirvana frontman’s mother, Wendy O’Connor, and sister, Kimberly Dawn Cobain, have temporary guardianship of the 17-year-old until February, MTV reports, though no control of her trust fund.
Love had regained custody of Frances Bean back in 2005; she’d lost it after an overdose in 2003 at which the child, then 11, had been present.
Courtney was not present in court Friday when the documents were filed, TMZ reports.
